Any Los Angeles residents? things to do here?
I came to L.A. today with my girlfriend.
What are some stuff that you can do with your girl @ L.A.? We thought about following places: 1. theme parks 2. hollywood 3. universal studios area 4. general shopping(rodeo street/beverly hills/palm springs outlet) 5. santa monica pier beach Is there anything im missing? I don't plan on going too far away from L.A. area. since my girl really doesn't enjoy sight-seeing(boo!!), something active would be nice. Though, if its a really nice place/background to take pictures, she is willing to go. help out a damn oregonian. thank you!!

1) If you like musical try to see wicked by getting there 2.5 hrs before showtime for lottery ticekts, only 25 bucks and front row or close if you win
2) beaches are everywhere but you should go up to malibu (1 hr north) or down to laguna (2 hrs south) for a really good beach, Malibu ocean side restaraunts I rec are pacific cove cafe, especially in this current weather and down by laguna chart house? is it? its on the side of PCH, great restaraunt 3) Theme park wise I would rec Disneyland/DCA although be wary of crowds since its SB, you can goto Six Flags if you like coasters 4) hollywood/highland complex is great so check that out if you want to do the touristy thing.. I recoomend Koji's for some great shabu shabu 5) universal, truthfully there isn't very much to do but universal studios, but there aren't that many rides, just mummy, tour and jurassic park 6) Shopping depends: check out outlets if you want a good deal and good brands liek citadel or the desert ones out by morongo (2hrs east on the 10), if you want malls: beverly center (check out mimosa for good french food nearby), 3rd st. promenade (less shopping more outdoor), westfield century city 5) Santa Monica just play on the pier, but the beach is pretty ghetto 6) Please try in n out burger and get your cheeseburger and fries ANIMAL STYLE! (chopped and grilled onions and cheese), its a hidden menu item 7) If your by UCLA try out Diddy reese cookies, great cheap cookies until about 1am at night, beware of lines 8) Try pinks or carnies for chilidogs, good stuff 9) C&O's trattoria for great italian food (rolls are to die for) pm me if you have anything specific, you lucked out as the weather just got socal hot and its perfect to be a tourist right now! |

It's an attraction for sure but it's hardly a worthwhile hotdog. I agree with hotdogspot.com on their poor rating, worst dogs almost anywhere... Now Carnie's in Studio City is good...
I'd also add that you should go try a few other places. Like Pasadena. Also go down to OC around Irvine Spectrum and spend a day at Huntington Beach main street around the pier. Long Beach around Pine Street and the aquarium. Newport Beach.... Take the M3 on the ferry at Balboa Island. |
