European Delivery questions

If I were to order a BMW for European Delivery, can my parents (who live in Germany) pick it up on my behalf?

What if, God forbid, there is any damage on the vehicle when it arrives in the US? Who pays for repairs / am I bound to damages?

No unless you put them on the contract and I believe it has to be US residents not Germans.

The marine insurance pays for the damages. It's not unusual for cars to get damaged during shipping ED or non-ED.

I'd recommend that you visit bimmerfest.com. There's a whole forum on EDs and all your questions will be answered there in the ED Wiki.

Calif65gm gave good advice...check out bimmerfest.com. Also, I belive your parents can pick up the car if they are US citizens with a passport. They'd have to be listed as the buyer, though. Not sure who could pick it up in the US if they are listed as the buyer.
Not sure who pays for any damage, but the vehicle has to go through VPC (vehicle prep center ) before going to the dealer. Any damage is repaired there, so no worries, mate.

Thank you for the responses! I hadn't realized bimmerfest was a different forum -- their wikis covered my questions indeed!

For ED related questions, it's best to visit bimmerfest because you get buyers from across the BMW model lines. Here it's strictly concentrated on e9Xs.
