What happens to the DISA stages when I drive at 3000rpm?
Is the DME in our cars smart enough to not constantly engage and disengage the first DISA stage if I cruise down the highway such that the motor is oscillating between 2950 and 3050 RPM?

Hey, glad you posted this. I was wondering the exact same thing the other day. Guess I was too lazy to really learn and also just assumed (hoped) that BMW would have thought of this themselves.
After reading about all of these bad DISAs, I'm over here stressing about when mine might fail. Annoying that apparently the only way to know they've even failed is to simply realize that the power is not there.. which not everyone would do.

I'm really hoping it's based upon more than JUST RPM though, because one could easily be frequently going up and down in that 150-200 RPM range while driving on the highway especially when not using "cruise control" (I never do).
Off the top of my head though, I can't remember what RPM I'm near on the interstate.
