Anyone use Z-CS?
I've had Z-CS for nearly a year and haven't used it yet. I'm itching to try it. Last weekend, I did a full detail on my car, including claying, machine polishing, and putting down ZFX-cured Z-5 followed by Z-2. I would have followed with Z-CS, but by the time I was done, it was really REALLY late. Also, I wasn't sure if I had to let the Z-5 and Z-2 cure for some period of time before applying Z-CS.
Assuming I wash the car this weekend, is there any benefit to putting Z-CS on it? I figure it can't take long, since there is no buffing off. Z-2 over Z-5 looks pretty good on my black car. Will topping it with Z-CS make it look worse? Any tips on using Z-CS? I assume it's the usual for Zaino -- just apply it very, very thin by hand. Thanks for any help. ![]()

After you wash it just hit it with the CS and follow up with Z8 after the CS dries (rainbow look will go away) and it will make your finish even deeper and wetter looking than before. It is like the icing on the cake. I love my CS/Z8 finale.

Bump! CS works very nice followed by Z8.
Unfortunately, i hate the fact that it really doesn't work like its advertised. You're still left with the rainbow look and streaking that needs to be buffed off. I limit it to one spritz per 1/2 hood and nothing.

If the "rainbow" look doesn't go away, then how long should I wait before buffing? How long does Z-CS normally take to dry?

Z-CS dries in seconds. You have to use it like you are not applying any. It sounds strange, but really apply it lightly. Dont buff. I follow Z-Cs with Z-8 after a Z-7 wash.....

Assuming I do it this Sunday, I'll report back here how it went.

Here is the "official" word from the Zaino website... # How long does Z-CS take to dry or cure? Drying and curing are two different processes. Depending on atmospheric conditions, it typically takes 15-30 minutes for a properly applied layer of Z-CS to dry, but can take up to several hours with low ambient temperatures, moisture, and high humidity. Full cross linking (curing) generally takes anywhere from 2-6 hours, again, depending on atmospheric conditions. # When I apply Z-CS, it looks very strange. Like, psychedelic. Is this normal? Yes. This is normal, allow the product to dry. As Z-CS is applied and begins to dry, the optical effects may make the surface areas appear prismatic or rainbow like. This is normal. Do not remove, please allow Z-CS to dry and do it's work. # I applied Z-CS on my black Corvette and it took a long time to dry. When I thought Z-CS finally dried, it still looked hazy. Does this mean I applied too much? Or am I just being impatient? Yes. You probably applied WAY WAY too much Z-CS which can take much longer to dry. Remember to always use Z-CS very sparingly. We can apply Z-CS to your entire Corvette in about 10 sprays. Please wipe down the EXCESS Z-CS with Z-6 (or a damp soft towel if you don't have Z-6) and the shine will come through.

Since I posted this, I've read a lot of threads on autopia.org about Z-CS. I can't say it gets rave reviews, and I'm chickening out from trying it. My car looks great now, so I'm thinking maybe I'll just top with Z8 after the wash. I can throw some Z-CS on there in a month or two, but since it has a recent coat of Z5 and Z2, and since Z-CS has lukewarm reviews, I'm thinking I won't bother with it right now.

I'm pretty happy with opti-seal which is a similar product. It lasts a long time, but you have to use very little to prevent streaking. However all it takes is some light buffing off with a microfiber if you happened to apply too much in a spot.

I'm probably in the minority here but I love ZCS and use my PC and a blue finishing pad to work it in. Never get the rainbow affects.
I start by lightly spritzing the pad and then one very light misting spritz on each panel, then rub it in until gone and shiny with the PC and speed 4.
