Can anyone tell me what these services are for?

Have these service indicators coming up on my dash display. Looks like front brake pads maybe? My pads look good to my eye?

I'll bet they're listed in the owners manual.

Thanks guys I don’t have a manual. I found a pdf online with all the indicators but couldn’t find either of these in it.

The bottom one is for DOT inspection. Here we have to go for emission test every two years.

Ok great, top is pads. So is that sensor based or mileage? Last time I looked a few months ago pads seemed fine and I know they were replaced about 20k miles ago. I assume that’s not sensor based?

Edit: nevermind I just checked and the pads do look low on the front. Guess it’s time for that brake upgrade lol

Oh yes, you are right. The one above is pads.

If you have carly or similar, you can pull service records from the car and it will tell you exactly what the warnings are.

Pad wear sensor is on the inside pad if you were judging pad life by the outside one.

Yup ... I've had that pop up (non-emission state).

It can be accessed through the tree lever. I don't remember if you can go further than 2 yrs ... but at least you know you won't get it again for 2 yrs if you can't.

It's an egg timer.

I mean its just a general reminder based on whatever your state has. Emissions/Safety/Inspection, what have you. When you reset, you can literally pick the next date.

Okay, since this thread got FUBAR, I'll try and straighten it out...

The top notice icon is telling you the CBS (condition-based service) system estimates the front brake pads are due for replacement in 600 miles. It's an estimate based on the system's tracking of your brake pad wear. There is an 2nd warning that comes up when the pads are actually spent, which is the red "Brake" symbol. You can wait until that warning comes up to replace the front brake pads. Once the red "Brake" symbol comes on, the mileage notice will drop to 0 (zero) miles.

The second icon is for a state safety inspection notification. It is adjustable to any date you want to set for it. If your state or local jurstiction does not have annual, or peroidic road worthiness safety inspections, then use the CBS menu reset procedure to set a date for this inspection far out into the future, say like 12/2030. If your state does have an annual safety inspection, then set the date to a month earlier than when the inspection is due, because the system lets you know after the date has passed.

There is also a similar inspection notice for emissions (the snake icon will be at the end of the car near the exhaust pipe). If your state or jurstiction does not have emissions inspections then set the date far out into the future.
