Tires for the rain?
Long story short, I'm likely moving to the island of Saipan (near Guam) in the Pacific. Their climate is in the 80's during the day year round, and into the 70's at night, with rain on an almost daily basis. Is there an ideal tire for this type of climate?
I've only lived in Southern California and Las Vegas so I have no experience in selecting tires for these types of conditions. Thanks! |

I can't help you with a tire recommendation, but I want to ask why you're moving out there? I wonder what the roads are like with all of that rain & heat & rain & heat.

The main roads were actually pretty decent surprisingly. There were some poorly maintained sections and dirt tracks off the beat and path, though. The worst road I drove on was probably the go kart track, I managed to blow a tire while I was there! It's absolutely beautiful. I had the chance to finally visit this summer and it was just as pretty as any of the Hawaiian islands I've been to. A couple pictures from my trip: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

PSS are certainly some of the best rain tires you can get. Pretty well known around the tire community.

They're the best performance tire in the rain, yes, but that doesn't make them the best tire in the rain.
