N54 Water Pump Removal - easier

Hello,

I don't know why, but it seems many people are removing a lot of things to remove the water pump.

If you'd like to remove it without removing the stabilizer bar and or your steering box...

Here's how I do it

1. Remove pre-catalyst Both (there is also a bracket to be removed that holds them together to the transmission)

2. Remove the radiator fan and the front turbo duct (from turbo to air filter box)

3. Not sure (don't remember if you have to) ... Intercooler and pipe from both turbos to intercooler removal

4. Unclip power steering hose from steering box

5. Drain engine coolant from water pump hose

6. remove pump and/or thermostat
