I don't think the point of Turo was to be cheaper than traditional rental places. It was more of a place to rent out non-traditional cars that you couldn't normally, or at least that's how it ended up.

The thought of some dope on the internet driving my car just so I can make a few hundred bucks is repulsive to me. No thanks.

She does a pretty good job explaining how to do "well." She's relatively small time but it's good because you don't have to sift through 100 different videos. It also helps that almost all the scenarios have happened to her yet she still does it and she explains the ins and outs.

I saw all of her cars a few weeks ago when I was looking at Turo while my car was in the shop. Interesting channel. Now to figure out how she stores all of those cars at an Irvine company apartment complex.

Haha. I wondered that too.

I believe she’s sold most of them off by now from her most recent videos as she only keeps them for about 12-14 months.

Don't forget Turo takes 25%.

I think profitability highly depends on location, just like most businesses. Most successful Turo renters are located in big cities such as New York, Chicago, LA, etc.

Here in Austin there doesn't seem to be a high enough demand.

Garage List
My daily/beater Civic has been on Turo for the past six months with only one bite. Haven’t lost sleep over it.

After I read the thread with the member’s M4 catching on fire during a Turo rental I looked at M’s (and other high end vehicles) on Turo in the Chicagoland area. I didn’t see too many luxury vehicles with many rentals, other than an older Maserati Ghibli. I can see both sides of this “To Turo or Not”. It would be cool to have extra cash to cover an exotic lease, but I don’t think I have the time/desire to hustle my ass off, while working full time, to Turo my 18 M3 w/ 6spd and my 18 X5 M sport w/ 3rd row and it not work out. I would hate to lease a cheap DD to Turo my vehicles and it be a big cluster fuck. It seems like a fleet (a few vehicles) with variety would be the best way to jump in. But I don’t have any friends to test this theory lol.

Update:

My 18 Rio got 4 requests. 3 of them were for the Thanksgiving break which is not representative of normal transactions.

Gonna wait it out and see after December.
