I generally prefer an email or text initially as it’s often more convenient for me during the day, but I do understand people preferring calls first. Would certainly weed out a lot of the low balling time wasters.

This is the answer. If someone isn't willing to have a conversation about a purchase like a car, they're not that serious. I'd rather speak to someone then try and type everything out.

I, for one, am seriously starting to wonder if Never_Enough is actually some advanced algorithm-governed Russian auto-poster with potential usefulness in the fall of 2020. #RealLifeMatters

lol, I show up in my M3 to buy a roughly 3k pilot. The sellers comeback, Oh you have an M3 you can afford this, come on whats a few hundred bucks...LOL
I purposely bring my M3 to show that a. I am emotionally attached to ONE car b. I don't need another car Buying a under 5k car is a headache. But 2003-2005 honda pilots are fucking steals RN. If you can get one with timing belt recently replaced, then set aside maybe 500 for repairs and it'll go right to 200k. perfect beater for me. Ill maybe put 20-30k on it. And sell it for maybe 1k less than I bought. Wish I could say the same about the M3 |

I too often email first when interested in a car, but as I said I understand why a lot of sellers would prefer first contact via phone. I’m sure some people are happy to waste time over phone too. In my personal experience having sold many cars over the years, all of the time wasters came in via email, none of them started with a phone call. Just my little bit of anecdotal evidence. |
