Map / dome light bulb socket part number
![]() In the above picture, it is the three white round knobs that hold the bulbs for the map / dome light. I am looking for just one bulb socket (not the entire overhead light assembly or the light bulb). Does anyone have the part number for it? I can't locate it at RealOEM in either Main Group 63 LIGHTING or 61 VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. EDIT: It is part number 63258389736 Bulb socket ![]() Last edited by FastXTC; 03-24-2016 at 09:08 PM.. |

I think I’m an amateur, and your best bet is to pop one out and take it to the parts counter.
![]() But if I had to wager, I’d go with 61 13 8 377 072. You’ll notice two #15s (universal socket housing uncoded) on the list at: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...11&hg=63&fg=30 My thinking is that the non-festoon style socket would be the less expensive of the two. |

My BMW part advisor said I need to buy the socket housing to get the sockets. That's an $80 socket housing to get a $2 bulb holder socket.
I'm positive the bulb holder socket is part number 63258389736, item number 4 here (Mini Cooper part): ![]() http://www.allminiparts.com/showAsse...sembly=v_r_240 I've asked him to order it. We shall see when it arrives... |

shipping really kills it for these things, definitely going to try a local dealer first (and I'm getting a few extras in case I screw up more of them)

I did one in today too. Two local dealers told me I had to buy the whole dome light assembly (for approx $110). Found this thread and called ECS tuning. $2.55 each. Of course, I had to but some other stuff too. |

Keeler told me i had to buy the whole assembly, but i told them to find part 63258389736. he said it wouldnt work and i told him it will and i'd like to buy it. he continued to argue and i said, just go get it, ill buy it and show you its the same. when he brought it out, i lined it up with the one from my car and he goes "oh, i guess it is the same"

Does this part number apply to post LCI e90 sedans? It appears to be for pre-LCI models. I need the exact same item but I'm unsure if it'll work or if I need to buy the entire housing just to get the socket. If someone can provide me the part number for LCI vehicles, i'd truly appreciate it. Thanks!

I'm going to see if my local BMW center has the part. I was putting in LEDs and using a good but not great YouTube video as a guide. Like many others, I ended up breaking the socket on two of the map lights in my car. Ugh!!! The thought of now having to spend decent bucks to replace a crappy bulb socket has me quite ticked off.
Using RealOEM, BMW doesn't list the socket as a separate item under my parts list. Hopefully, this will work in my car. If it does, I'll make mention of it for anyone else in the same boat as me. |

That part comes in black or white plastic. If the part number is the same, it should work.
