great results from the vtt stage 1's. you can see the difference in the power curve, as its making power all the way to 6k before it starts to fall off. i wanted to go with a set earlier this year, but was hesitant because they were unproven at the time. i'm sure that little 1 series is moving nicely!

This isn't at a super high boost level or agressive timing. Theres probably 30-50whp left in this setup if not more. So i guess the stage 1's are a nice upgrade.

Thanks guys!

I was surprised to see this much power on only 19.8psi which is the E85 BEF Map 7 target.

My friend just got his 335xi back and had the DocRace ST Kit installed with a DBB 6266 on 20psi. Made 511whp and 498tq. That's on E30 and 91 octane protuned Cobb.

So I'm hoping to see how the VTT S1's stack up against the ST 335xi.

A few people online have these turbos pushing 23psi midrange and 19psi redline with no dyno's however. I would assume 515whp range would be expected.

Good job man, I def agree there's a bit more power to be had with your setup..

Stage 1's are a tad over OEM spec right? I believe I read they have a 14T wheel as opposed to the stock 10T..?

Yep its a 14t and the stock turbine is clipped a few degrees.

There is a little more HP in the setup but for now i am good with 500whp daily. I am looking into methanol injection next though the bumping boost to 22psi taper to 18.5 at redline.

I see you have had these for couple of years now. Have you had any issues with the turbos? Or any regrets?

I was seeing if you had any update as to how your VTT S1's stacked up to your friends DOCRace ST Kit 6266 on 20 psi running on E30. I wonder if he runs a E50 map and turns up the boost a little bit how much whp he would be putting down on lets say a DynoJet. 498 whp vs 511 whp isn't that much of a difference.

These turbos are twin stage ones, not a n55 stage one. This tread may be from Steven Nelson, who also done other mods. He's making almost 530hp from stage ones. While on the subject, VTT stage ones at the time are 14t comp wheel with a stock turbine. The stage ones now run a 9 blade turbine, so a battle of the stage ones, the 9 blade will make more power. Look for this when inquiring stage ones.

Steve's results are awesome, but please understand that's corrected numbers from a high altitude (CO car). Normally we tell people that stage 1's won't a ton more more hp than stockers, but they will carry it a bit further in the RPM range and they will have reduced shaft speed as compared to stock turbos. They're very tough/reliable turbos but in general for someone wanting 500+ whp we recommend stage 2 or above.
