sigh...days like these...

...I miss my X5. I gave it to my wife when I got the 335i.

It's been raining all day today, roads are soaked but temps are in the high 40s.

I'm on the way back from work in the 335, take a local street 90degree turn at ~25mph and it slips immediately, tail goes ~30degrees before I correct. damn. Here comes a sharp 315degree entrance to the highway and same thing happens again...sigh. DTC kicks in both times. This is with 18' Potenzas.

An hour later a buddy calls a favor, he needs a pickup from the same train location. huh...I decide to take the X5 and see what happens. First corner, same speed, max body roll (no ZSP), and the thing is planted on the road! Second turn, same story, no 4x4/DSC warning, no drama, just a tight turn.

sigh...Wed is supposed to be sunny, maybe I'll leave the 335 home tomorrow

Which part of NJ do you live in? I live in Union and work in Jersey City and we didn't get that much rain.

I work in the city, live a bit further out but yeah, it wasn't a lot of rain, just enough to wet the roads + continuous drizzle. I don't think the Potenzas can do much in the rain apparently, scared the heck out of me as I took the car to 130mph+ in the Autobahn...in the rain...(with cars passing me on the left!)

it is because of the power of the 335... you cant say you hate the power. also the X5 and 335 has different tires.

More like the 335 is prolly not xi and the X5 is? Plus the X5 doesnt have runflats..the tires are softer and narrower, which cut through the rain better...assuming you have a 3.0 X5...

Yes, yes, yes on all of the above.

M&S tires on non-sport 3.0 X5.
RFT crappy tires on 335i with a touch of extra power with the help of the Helix crew.

and no, I don't mind the power except on days like today when I can't use it

I'm still in winter mode (x5) I've probably driven my 335 two or three times in all of march. I've got my fingers crossed for friday though.
