AW, it is good testing you are doing. I would rather you than me do it.

Just to those who are interested, I can verify the OP's results. I am running
JBS2HH on 91 octane in 88+ weather and not one limp. I go and put 100 Shell race gas and run JBS2HHR and I can get a limp once in a while. I don't have the X switch, I wish I did because it seems like to run the R with 0 problems I need to lose an H. Anyways, with RR DP's Gruppe M intake Forge DV, Borla exhaust and Terry tune this car is a monster. Even in the extreme Phoenix heat. Hotter temps soon to come.

Go buy an X switch! Terry gives you full credit for you R switch when you switch up.....

Thanks for the test results. BTW, were you still running the non-bypassed solenoids with the extra vac line for these tests?

That is correct. I am running the new boost solenoid setup while doing all testing. I find that is smooths boost out and makes for a better driving expierence...

e90AW335i, did you ever record stock boost levels vs the BMS intake with your boost gauge?

Interesting question..e90aw335i, while you're doing all this testing, maybe you can test IAT's between stock and bms as well

Possibly..... I would need to get the hookup to go from the OBD2 port to a laptop though. Plus, Terry@BMS already did testing like this.....

Just an update: I got a limp mode on the way into work this morning. This is running what I beleieved to be JB2HR but when I looked at my dial it might have been a little higher then that JB2(1.25)HR. I am not sure how much of a difference that makes but I was in traffic so I flipped the switch off and went back to running JB2HH for now. I will continue testing when I leave work today to see if I can replicate what happened this morning....

I am going to put some marks on my dial so I know where 1, 1.5, etc is on it, this way I know what I am truely running....

I was running the JBX at 100% for the weekend (installed it last Wednesday) but decided that I missed the R-switch (even if I only do have 93 octane here) so I dialed the X back to about 1.25 (65% or so) and flipped on the R-switch and boy it just seems SO much faster with that switch turned on...no limp modes whatsoever since yesterday at lunch running the car hard too

Could you please? I would not be surprised at all to see a slight change in boost from an aftermarket intake. At least, that's what happened on the other cars I've done this to.
