E90 2-3 second light not sure if its a warning light or if the car needs to be checke

Hello there, I recently got my oil changed last month at about 111,014 km, then a month later in December right now, when I turn on my car in position 2, a yellow service light comes on for 2-3 seconds & then disappears. The key is in acc mode position 2, & pops up SERVICE with a car on it in yellow below it, & also below the word SERVICE with a car on it, next to the P⚠️ it says km 12000 12/2018, & also like the SERVICE with a car below it that also 2-3 seconds disappears as well. Is there any issue that needs to be solved, by my local BMW dealer, or my BMW indy shop, or I can go in service mode, & do it myself on my odometer, & rest the yellow light that says service with a car below it on the dashboard?

Also next to the first one has the temperature/time P fuel range milage etc with no ⚠️next to the P or any other light when I scroll through the check control menu on the odometer, & I push BC on the stalk, & says CHECK OK.

If you own a 2005-2012 E90 BMW 3 Series please comment if you had the same issue

Michael

When that service light comes up on the dash it is just BMWs service interval they set for check ups such as Honda's maintenance required light. Should be able to be cleared on the dash or maybe ask the bmw dealer near you to reset it for you

How do you do it? Do you hold the trip computer button for a couple seconds & will it take you into service mode? or do you scroll over with the indicator stalk with the BC button? Also I didn't go to BMW, I went to an indy shop

I believe I had this problem the very first time and it turned out that I was not holding the reset button long enough , I believe you have to hold it for 10 seconds or longer, anyways you may already be doing that...

If you hold it 10 seconds or longer some writing in German will appear & then you have to start over again
