2006 E90 318i auto ECU problems
Bought car 3 months ago and has been driving perfectly, albeit a little hard on the ride quality.
10 days ago I parked up briefly after a 12 mile journey and she wouldn't restart ~ left it a while and restarted with no warning lights showing and drive lovely again. 4 days later I drove about 7 miles in heavy rain and parked up and again she wouldn't restart, called out Green Flag who also couldn't restart her and lifted her to a garage, after getting car off the lorry the garage man got in and she restarted ok first time, he drove it into the garage & left her running, but after 20 minutes she stopped and didn't want to restart. Diagnosed with power going to DME but no power leaving it, taken it out to repair it and there is a fairly new white paper sticker attached ( see pic) Is this normal or does it indicate that it's been repaired or replaced fairly recently?? |

I agree that is a very white sticker compared to the muddy one at the top which is a little concerning! Is there any other evidence of being wet where you pulled the ECU from?
Anyway the white sticker shows a chassis number for an E90 318i built in December 2005. Would that be your chassis number by any chance? If not, maybe it has been swapped out for a used unit and now this one has got wet as well. |
