that's the entire point of the upgraded coils.

the n54 platform has issues with ignition, just like everything does, when you turn the boost up to dumb levels.

it's pretty much irrelevant to us.

Is this basically adding ignition advance or what?
IIRC the reason the claims for the gains was that it is very hard to fully ignite a lean E85 combustion cylinder. So with the stock coils they were not getting a full burn. You run lean for increase exhaust heat which helps spool up in the lower RPMs. Lean + E85 is very hard to ignite let alone fully. At least that is what I remember the claims from the gains were.

That being said VTT has many questionable dynos and no one ever comes close to their numbers. Also, no one has ever come close to showing these type of gains using these coil packs.

All that being said, if they last longer than stock coils on an n54 that is a good thing. People also say the car feels a bit better as the rpms rise and idles better etc. I don't think there would be any noticeable gains on the NA N52. Maybe FI on full E85. Before these upgrades people still made 900whp on the stock n54 coils so it's not like you have to have them.
