I have VRSF and fits perfectly. Sounds good and price can't be beat. I'd recommend them.

Seems like I'm a bit late to the party.

Our pipes are made of 3" mandrel bent stainless steel and are 3" up until the last couple inches where they neck down to 2.5" to meet the catback. Almost every other pipe out there with the exception of AR & MS are entirely 2.5" or start at 3" and after a few inches neck down to 2.5" which is known to make less power than a 3" pipe (CPE, AA, Raceland ect..).

We guarantee fitment 100% or your money back and include a lifetime warranty. I have no idea why AR posted some ebay pipes and claimed they were ours, but here's a picture of our actual pipes:

We've sold just over 350 sets of these pipes in a little less than 7 months and still can't produce them as quickly as we need to keep up with demand. Out of the total amount of downpipes sold, we've had about 3 returns due to customers having fitment issues. Most of these were DIY installers. We've offered no cost replacements to two of them and a 100% refund as well as a return label for the one who chose not to try another set.

After seeing the quality of materials & the difference between the VRSF + Akras (there's over a $1,000 price difference between the two), I don't see how anyone could defend how the VRSFs aren't cheap
The o2 bungs are made of SS304 stainless steel. If they strip, it's because they were torqued incorrectly.

Paying $1500 for a set of downpipes isn't a problem if you want to feel like you're buying a superior product, but a 3" downpipe will still outperform any brand of 2.5" pipe no matter how much it costs

In the end you're paying for the believed perception of quality while losing out on performance.

After reading this thread...I will DEF be getting someone to do this install for me. I'm not gonna spend all day doing it and end up with all these problems.

Thanks for all the info and especially to you VRSF..I'll report back how mine goes...fingers crossed. Sux DP's can potentially be such a pain...but that's how it goes with great power mods I guess...

Nothing beneficial is going to come from me arguing with you or vice versa. Your DPs didn't fit well on my car, shit happens... I will agree that there is a "luxury tax" with Akrapovic products, but the quality of materials & perfect fitment make them far superior to 98% of the competition in the "aftermarket exhaust" segment.

I bought AR downpipes when they first came out around 07/08ish. They did not fit perfectly... they would rub/rattle on the passenger side heat shield. Their fix at the time was to push in the shielding... I now installed Ultimate Racing catted DP, which other members had issues with rust. But mine are used but fit flawlessly and have zero rust.

Point is, Big name or small, none are perfect.

aha, so your the owner of the 335iS they were talking about that is suppose to come in, haha, small world. From what is being said the 335iS has a longer wheel base thats why they are coming up short on this car.

Keep this post updated on the results...

thanks

It's unfortunate that my bad experience has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I'd never consider another product from "this" company....

Learned a very difficult lesson with those DPs: You gotta pay to play
Try taking a magnet to many of our "competitors" quality products. You will find the "304 stainless" to be extremely magnetic (read: mild steel / not stainless)

Out of the brands mentioned in this thread we're proud to say we're still supporting the N54 market
