USB Acting Weird

I have an E92 w/out Nav and the HiFi system w/Professional HU. I was using a 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive with about 150 MP3 Music Files on it. It worked great so I decided to put the rest of my MP3 files on it (about 940 files) totaling about 8GB. All of these files are on the Flash Drive without a folder, just as they were before. But when I put in the Flash Drive this morning, first thing I noticed was that all of the menu options (folder/artist/genre/etc...) were not there. Then as it started playing, the music volume was going up an down every second which tells me that either the files are damaged or it's having trouble reading the Drive.

So... my question is: Because it's a 2.0, not a 3.0, did I just need to leave the Drive in long enough for the system to read the entire Drive or is it that it just has trouble reading a Drive with that much information on it? I don't want to start taking files off and I don't want to go back to using the iPod because the iPod would not connect when I first started the car and I had to manually switch the Audio (I hate the radio) after about 30 secs to give it time to realize that there's something connected. I was attempting to use a Viseeo Bluetooth Connector but had the same issue. I thought I'd found the answer with the USB Drive, but now THAT is giving me issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

It does take the a long time for the bigger drives to index.
People use to try to attach hard drives to the usb port the
index times where ridiculous . Don't know if anybody has
a solution.

Does the original still work or did you write over it.

16 or 32 gb shouldn't make much of a difference.

Good call. I plugged it back in and left it in for about an hour (drove 15 mins, then 30 mins later drove another 15 mins). Now it's reading the Flash Drive just fine.

I also added my specs to the other Thread, but it's a 16GB Sandvik USB 2.0 Flash Drive formatted to FAT32.

But I am still wondering why I have issues with my iPod and with the Visseo BT Connector. It takes over a minute to recognize either one. I never had an issue like this with my 2011 E90 which also had the 6FL Option.

Any ideas, anyone?

You're prob right, but since I have less than 15GB of MP3 files, it seems to work just fine. They're not FLAC Lossless files, but 90% of my MP3 files are at least 256kbps Bitrate so it sounds pretty good for a HiFi system.

First, as I said, I've never had an issue with the iPod or Viseeo in my E90 which had a Navi System. But in this car, my non-Navi Professional Radio seems to have a lot of trouble realizing that there is an iPod or the Viseeo connected so whenever I start the car, it can't seem to remember that it's there and tries to read the Aux port and then turns on the radio ().

So, I started using a 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive and it has no trouble reading the Drive and NEVER disconnects. But after a week, I noticed that it seems to play the same 30-40 songs over and over so I'm guessing there's an issue.with it reading the entire Drive. I want to go back to the iPod or Viseeo, but that disconnection issue just drives me insane. Is this something I can fix or should I just work on getting a Flash Drive to work correctly?

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I looked at the other thread that ctuna referred to and got some ideas, but no clear, concise answer, so I will just have to keep working at it and hope I can get something to work. I think my next step will be to invest in a 16GB USB 3.0 or 3.1 Flash Drive and see if that helps.
