BMW leather maintenance
As my M5 is already 1 month old I am wondering how to start with the best leather maintenance. From my previous experience from my F82 M4, Marino leather seats are really fragile and wears up quite fast. Question is - what products I should use to keep it as good as new?
Today I spent some time on detailing forums and seems like Zymol Leather Cleaner and Zymol Treat Leather Conditioner will be the products that I would go for. In M4 I have used Gyeon Leather Cleaner and Leather Coat however the effect for me was too glossy. I want to keep factory mat finish without any glossynes. What are your opinion and how do you maintain leather in your cars? Last edited by Mlynarz; 12-25-2018 at 01:17 PM.. |

You can’t purchase the ceramic pro leather sealer unless a certified detailer applies it for you.. the ceramic pro SPORT can be purchased to take home from the detailer as a maintenance spray..

Thanks for answers. After some additional research I have decided to go with Swisswax Leather Kit. I have still Gyeon products, however i will not use it on M5 Leather. This is the effect of using this product for one year in M4 leather:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/wMiye2PdpbDJq6EG9 The M4 leather got to shiny for me, and I was using both - cleaner and leather coat. To compare - I want to keep the mat appearance of my steering wheel and seats that you can see below for as long as possible https://photos.app.goo.gl/CdPBLg5AFc3ADaH78 I do not want to use one product like Gyeon Leather Shield, and leave it without further maintenance, because I think that if you want to keep your leather soft it need to be regularly treated by some conditioner. So after reading many reviews I decided to go with Swisswax - just made an order yesterday and can't wait use it for the first time Last edited by Mlynarz; 12-30-2018 at 11:58 AM.. |

How about Gyeon Leather Shield or Ceramic pro leather sealant durability? What is the appearance of the leather after 3 or months of everyday use after single application of one of this products?

I'm at 6 months of everyday use, with ceramic pro, I have not done a single thing since my detailer did the seats. They still look new, and my seats are white FYI.

I applied two coats of Gyeon in the summer. Have been driving it daily in snowy winter, with 3 toddlers kicking with their snow boots in the rear seats. No issue so far.
