doubt you are going to get a car for so little over invoice...
you are going to find that you are going to have to give more 'due at signing' for a lease as there is always a 625 bank fee, non-negotiable (though some dealers try to bump it up from 625 to say 825, the minimum you have to pay is 625) - national deal may have this rolled into the payment, not sure also security deposit is wrong on your 'deal' - SD is always your payment rounded up to the next $50 increment, so $450 in your case. also dealers usually charge some sort of doc fee, which you may b able to negotiate a little, but may not be able to at all (usually 150-250 bucks) also dont forget registration/title costs for another couple 100 |

on lease calc i added 400 dollars misc fees. is it going to be more than that?
Can you structure it out?, isnt the 625 part of the $$ down? im putting 500, so 125 would get rolled into the lease payments???? |

I tried to make an excel spreadsheet for the lease deal you talked about... However I couldn't make it work with the numbers you mentioned because there were a lot more fees. Anyways you can modify it however you want.
I had to add fees for stuff like Aquisition fee which you must pay (625 minimum, but the dealer can jack it up to 825). License and registration for the first year. And a doc fee seems likely, 239 is not outside of the range I've heard of. With 2333 out of pocket I calculated 439 a month with tax. But keep in mind the money factor of .00175 is the BASE money factor, so the lowest you can get (with security deposit). The dealer can jack that up by .0004 at the most. So they likely would start you off with .00215 which would instead put you at 464 a month. And this is all assuming a big discount on the sale price. I bet if you walk into a dealer they'll start with 2k out of pocket and 550-575 just to piss you off. I hate car salesmen. |

when people say they are putting money down i assume that means 'cap cost reduction' it sounds like you are looking for a zero down lease. if that is the case you still are going to have to pay bank/SD/first months/doc fee/reg fee at signing with a zero cap cost reduction |

ok cause im basing it off the advise of people on this forum, and in reading responses to other leasing inquiries, they've always said lease with no $$ down, to avoid losing it due to theft, accident, etc.
I'm trying to make perfect sense of this before going in to make the deal. If we take the 328i with auto tranny, the national deal they have, granted I can get a hefty discount on the vehicle, can it be that i can apply the discount i get on the vehicle as somehow crossing out the down payment amount of 2500 down payment, and thus keeping $399 a month with tax payments??? |

go here and download this excel lease calculator (enable macros). plug in all your numbers, money factor, fees, etc and you can see what the payment would be. one thing i noticed about this calculator is that it did not calculate tax correctly for my state. i unchecked the roll tax into payment option and calculated tax myself.

ok streetfish, i tried it, but ya some options weren't computing properly. Let me ask you this, say I pick up the 328I for $369+tax with $3269 down, with an MSRP of $34,450, you're saying that the car is already discounted? I have been under the impression when manufacturers discount something or promote it, they usually do so on the money factor part of the lease, not touching the price of the vehicle. But ya anyway, say i get a 2k discount on the car, bringing it to $32,450. couldnt i just put 1269 down and get the same 369+tax payment????

In post #6 I attached a spreadsheet for your specific situation. You can open it up and change the cells in green to try and make your payment 369 + tax. I also used AZ registration and AZ tax rate so that might be different for you, but regardless of that your MF will be .00175 at the absolute lowest (with security deposit) and your residual will be 63% for a 12k/year lease (36 months). To lower the out of pocket to 1269, I tried getting rid of the security deposit and lowering the doc fee. Without a security deposit your lowest MF would be .0019. So I then came out with a payment of $415 + tax. Anyways, you can mess with those #'s and zreo some of those fees out to see what it would take to get to the payment you want. At least then you would know what you would need the dealer to do. |
