Torque Specs Thread
Thought it would be a good idea to have a easy resource for checking required Torque Specs for our cars. Please reply with corrections/additions.... i'll update the 1st post when I can.
Hopefully this will be a good resource for us DIYers... Oil Filter - 25Nm Oil Drain Plug - 25Nm Oil Filter Housing - 22Nm Valve Cover - 8.5Nm Spark Plug - 23Nm +/- 3Nm Cylinder Head Cover to Cylinder Head M6 - 8.5Nm Throttle Body - 8Nm High Pressure Line to Injector - 23Nm Downpipes - ?? Front Control Arm Bolt - ? Steering rack to subframe M10 56 Nm (41 ft-lb) Cylinder head cover to cylinder head (M6) 8.5 Nm (75 in-lb) Valve cover • Tighten to 8.5 Nm (75 in-lb) Oil filter housing bolts 22 Nm Stabilizer bar (V shape) 21 Nm Throttle Body bolts 8 Nm Spark plug to cylinder head 23 ± 3 Nm (18 ± 2 ft-lb) High pressure line to injector 23 Nm (17 ft-lb) |

Front Sway Bar Mount Bolt - 21Nm
Front Sway Bar Link Bolt - 58Nm Hopefully these two are right (ive included the ista description incase they are wrong). Front Strut Top Nut - Spring strut shock absorber to support bearing - 64Nm Front Strut Pinch Bolt - Spring strut shock absorber to swivel bearing - 45Nm Attached is the rear suspension and subframe torque specs. |

"Transmission Drain Plug - 35Nm"
That would be incorrect if you have a plastic transmission pan. On the plastic pans, 335i, the value is around 8.5 nm. VT |

This chart shows oil pan torque as 10nm... I know that is not correct for e9x 335i cars. The specs on that model is 8nm + 90º for small bolts and 8nm + 180º for longer bolts uniting the pan with the transmission bell housing.
