E93 Alarm going off......

Hi,

Car is a UK 2008 E93 325i Auto.

Just lately the alarm is being triggered for no reason.

I tried disconnecting the hood switch - still triggers.

If I disable the interior sensor with 2x presses of the lock button it doesn't trigger. So, this leads me to believe the interior motion sensor may be at fault.

My other thought is the battery may need replacement and I have a good quality charger/re conditioner coming to try and revive what appears to be the original OEM BMW battery.

What is really confusing me is where is the bloody interior sensor located? In the E90/92/92 it appears to be fitted in front of the dome light but it's not the case on an E93.

So 2 questions really.

1. With the correct equipment can a diagnostic scan pinpoint any faulty sensors? Using a generic OBD reader and the torque app shows no faults, but this is a blunt instrument. i'm not averse to getting hold of a cable and a copy of INPA and having a go.

2. If it is a faulty interior sensor....where the hell is it???

thanks in advance.

Assume they are in the door??

What I want to know is can a diagnostic identify a faulty sensor??

Just to update. Put the battery on a reconditioner and it seems to have sorted the alarm.... so far.

At least I've a fair idea now to just replace the battery if it plays up again.
