Alpine upgrade kit - diplexers and connectors
Hello to everyone!
I have been enjoying reading these forums for quite some time now. Unfortunately I could not find any answers to my current question and I have to open my own thread. So, I have taken the path to upgrading my bmw e90 from base audio with the alpine upgrade kit. I was not planning it until they gave me thr amp from the kit as a gift. Anyways, I have just acquired the loom and all the speakers from an L7 system. (Should be delivered next week). What I am missing though, are the diplexers from the kit. Is there a chance to get everything going with any alternative diplexers or none are to be found? If not what are their part numbers? Another question I've got is regarding the blue connectors on the loom itself - I do not have them. Do you have their part numbers or may I get any alternatives for them as well? My loom looks exactly like the one in the pic below. I have seen other looms from the kit with already preattached connectors to it. Why the difference? FYI I am a noob at electronics and etc, so any additional info regarding the diplexers specs or whatsoever are welcomed. I apologize beforehand to the moderators if my thread is in the wrong section. Best regards from Bulgaria! |

Can you explain what a diplexer is? And why you would need one?
Is one less than a multiplexer. Its the official document nothing about diplexer mentioned in there as far as I can see. As far as I know there is only the what BMW uses for a crossover in the doors. Which is the one cable going into the wrapped bundle with two cables going out one to the tweeter and one to the mid. Then the splitting of the parallel connection in the door sills or at the unde rseat woofer depending on the year of the car. and the running of the cables to the amp. You also need the BMW tweeter pods if you don't have them. Last edited by ctuna; 03-16-2019 at 08:38 PM.. |

Yes, i am talking about the same thing. You can see it in the picture in my first post. Wrapped around foam. It stays in the doors and connects tweeters+door amd HU speakers to run on one channel to the amp (as far as I understood)

It is no mystery. I do not have them and I can not find them. I am asking if any alternatives could be found for such diplexers or for their product number so I could search some more. Thanks.
