Question Passenger Seat !@#$

I did some searching but couldn't find any issues identical to mine so I'm a bit lost now as I've already changed the fuses (even added some as per the fuse diagram).

Anyhow on my 2009 E92 my power passenger seat doesn't move nor does the heated seat function work. When i turn on the heated seat the indicator stays on for 5 seconds then shuts off. Not sure what's the issue here... I checked the connector and it's secure....

Has it ever worked for you in your ownership of it? Why are you adding fuses? Sounds like a bad seat module or power supply. You could try swapping the seat module from the driver side over to see if that makes a difference.

It's never worked since I owned it. Actually, initially the seat only tilted. Now that doesn't work anymore. I added fuses because according to the e90 diagram i pulled from the web there were seat fuses that were missing. My driver's side has always worked though...

Was the diagram from NewTIS.com?

Make sure you are searching for info using your VIN.

Indeed it seems really strange you would need to add fuses.

My money is also on a bad seat module. I'd be using a multimeter as well as INPA to do some testing.

No, the diagram if i remember correctly I pulled from a Google Image search for an 'e93 335i'

Yeah, one would think that is odd but I purchased it AS IS so who knows what was going on with it prior....

Also, with the heated seat not working would it still be the seat motor? or maybe 2 separate issues here

The reason i ask if it's ever worked is the possibility the seat was swapped by the previous owners. Improper power seat swaps will leave it in a state like that.

One thing to try is to disconnect the battery overnight. Reconnect it in the morning and immediately try to move the seat. If the seat moves, your the canbus between the seat module the JBB is down / bad.

I highly doubt the seat was swapped here - just a gut feeling that I'd be willing to eliminate that factor due to the little bit of history I know about this e92. I'll try the battery disconnection test; thank you

OK sorry for the long delay but I just put this issue to the side. Now that it’s getting warmer I disconnected the battery overnight. In the morning I reconnected it and started her up. Passenger seat does not work still.

Scan the car for errors with INPA. Until then it's all guessing games. I'm willing to bet your seat control module is dead, or there's a wiring issue in the large yellow harness plug.
