Applying ceramic coating after paint

I was thinking of ceramic coating my car to prepare it for winter. I'm having my bumper and hood resprayed soon and I'm wondering how long I should wait before applying Ceramic coating. Thanks!

The paint will need to off-gas (i.e. - solvents evaporating from the paint). This takes about a month.

To properly do this the paint should be bare with no waxes or sealants. After a month just wash, clay, polish and then coat it.

Note that ceramic coatings will not prevent or reduce scratches or marring during winter. They will only allow the paint to have increased hydrophobic properties and allow it to be easier to clean. To 'protect' new paint, the best option would be PPF.

Thanks I paint correct pretty well but I've never applied a coating before. I'll make sure to wait a month or two before. Thanks again

Cool - good luck! From what I've seen, the lower quality coatings are substantially easier to apply than the high end ones, which seems odd but true.

Opti-coat appears one of the easiest, and Modesta appears to be one of the most difficult.

Cquartz 3.0 seem promising, I’ve had ample experience with opti coat pro and pro + super easy never have to worry about streaking or difficulty leveling excess product however opti coat isn’t sold to consumers like cquartz.
