2011 E90 @ 2 RPM question 328 xi

Hello All fairly new to the E90 game have had multiple sport/racing cars in the past had a kid and needed a kid friendlier vehicle so this is how I got to owning my 328. Had it for a little over 2 months now and started noticing. When in Drive there feels like there is a power insufficiency around 2 rpm in second or third gear I'm thinking 3rd but is this a thing or do I need to look further into this. The best way I can describe it would be if you are in 3 third gear and you try and pull off from a slow rolling start. I don't really experience this if I throw it into triptronic shifting. Any advise helps. Car only has about 23k miles on it. Thanks

A 2011 328i with only 23k miles on it! Where you find one of those?

If that's how many miles it really has, then there shouldn't be any parts, like spark plugs, that need replacing

Have you tried in DS? (just push to the left and leave it)

@mgorman87 another reason why I picked it up right place at the right time when an older woman traded the car in. I have not tried it in DS. Will do tomorrow and get back to you just find it strange. Outside of that car runs and drives with no issues.

Sorry forgot to mention that it only last for a a few second. I'm also going to be trying to "reset my transmission tomorrow" saw this online.

Anyone know if this really does anything.

Yes! I did it on my car. Made world's of difference. Felt like a different car. I actually posted something about it.

It's not actually resetting the adaptive transmission, but rather the adaptive driving patterns.

Woohoo!

If this is your first BMW, some other mods I would look into

1. Wheel spacers
2. Coding
3. Charcoal filter delete

If you're creative and like challenges the 335 engine platform can be boring. Power= how much you spend. You can build some crazy power from the motor but it's not really a challenge. Software logging and tuning support is easily available. In most cases your building power that you can not use on the street. Excluding the trips to Mexico.

Now, getting the most from the N52 takes finesse. The Path to Performance is a far less traveled road and there are still some ponies to be found in some custom intake manifold or cams. The N52 likes to rev and in a way this makes it more fun the the turbo charged motors.

I've owned both motors and like them both but for different reasons.

@rjahl well said. I'm not complaining and wouldn't need that type of power but do like a great sounding motor when the Windows and sunroof are open.

i mean it has low mileage but i would try cleaning the vanos solenoids. when you remove them replace the rubber gaskets.
