JB+ Impressions

After years of holding off, I finally bit the bullet and installed a tune on my 2010 e90. I chose the JB+ due to simplicity of install and conservative nature of the tune. The only other mod on the car is a aFe DCI I installed several weeks back.

I installed the JB+ on the default(50%) setting on Tuesday. I don't drive a tremendous amount(I work from home) but I've probably put ~40 miles on it over the past few days.

My impressions are: Meh. I don't really notice anything TBH. I'm actually pretty frustrated.

My question to this community is this: how long is the "learning" period? i.e. will I start to feel something more in a few days after more miles?

TIA.

Get rid of that and go MHD, much smoother through the powerband. If you're adding boost then you should definitely be replacing your plastic chargepipe with an aluminum one.

Have you gone wide open throttle, you won't notice any difference unless you are deep in the throttle. It's a boost scaler so there really isn't a learning period other then AFR working themselves out and any ignition correction. Usually 3-4 WOT pulls should get you where you need to be.

Yep and don't mind the other guys. Internet and forums are just full of jokesters.

However, they are partially right, after you feel the difference a JB+ makes, you'll want further modifications and possibly better tuning ability.

The JB+ is a solid product and one of the only 50-stage legal N54 tunes. Gains are not huge, like 30-40hp, but you should be able to feel it!

If you got it new it can be traded up to a JB4 when you're ready for more!

Definitely a nice little power increase over stock and the simplest installation ever. Takes 3 minutes with a USB plug and a zip tie.

I have a JB+ I can let go if anyone is interested in trying it.

Gene, before you know it you'll be asking which Pure turbo to get, and whether or not you should get with Steve-o of Fuel-It for a bigger lpfp and a port injection setup. Trust me, it's a sickness, and you now have a fever.
