Alternator repalcment
Just giving a heads up to anyone doing this in the future. It's so simple remove the 4 bolts, then remove the tube going to the smog pump as it is crucial in orde to gain clearance when remove the alternator. Just move it back and forth with the bottom coming out first and be sure the remove the pulley mounted on the alternator. No need to remove ac bracket or compressor or other I've gone a as far a cutting off the corner from the intake manifold. Hope this helps !!

Intake manifold shift
So I had to remove the intake manifold out of the way enough to swing the alternator out bottom first. Only one bolt and 6 nuts to get the intake up and out of the way. Disconnect the Charge pipe first with the quick connect pin. Waiting on my new alternator now.

I had a hell of a time when I did my alternator, not sure how you managed it so easily. I had to pull the intake manifold and even then it was a bitch and a half to get the alternator down in it's bracket. It was like the bracket was too tight and you had to slide the alternator 100% straight on otherwise it wouldn't budge. I think I ended up getting a pry bar of big screwdriver under the oil filter housing and then leveraging it down into its hole.
I even took a dremel to the alternator mounting points just to make it a little easier. Still was a bitch. |

Installed the new alternator today, went in like butter. Took a little bit of wd40 to the mounting brackets and it slide right in bottom first, then rotated the top in place. I had to basically take the forward half of the intake off the studs but way easier the dealing with the A/C compressor and what not. Got it all zipped up today and the noise is gone!
