Misfire / Fueling Issues - 2F04 2BDE 2BF0 2EE0
Hello,
Car is a 2011 n55 with 106k miles currently no tune but FBO minus the FMIC. For the last few months I have been experiencing a misfire (although it doesnt quite feel like a misfire) under WOT usually between 5-6K rpms. It cuts all the fueling to the cylinders and the car basically needs to be pulled over and restarted for the codes to go away. The car seems to drive fine otherwise, I just avoid getting too aggressive. I have tried new plugs, coils, and now the hpfp although the issue still persists. Replacing the hpfp eliminated some shadow codes I was getting (2BDE 2BFO) and eliminated my long cranks but did not help with the issues under WOT. Also while replacing my hpfp i noticed oil in my vacuum line (the one that runs up to the top of the valve cover) is this normal or should I be worried about this? The codes I am still getting after replacing my hpfp: 2EE0, 2EF4, 2EFE, 2F04 Basically all random misfire or cylinder 6 misfire codes. The code for cylinder 6 is consistent every time it happens. Should I try to replace that injector next? My thoughts are it could either be the injectors or something on the lpfp side. Any other suggestions? I hate to continue throwing parts at the car hoping it will fix it. I've had terry from BMS review my logs and he hasnt noticed any red flags and I haven't either. Both of these logs are pre-hpfp replacement but soon I will reinstall my JB4 and get some more updated logs. https://datazap.me/u/chrisrav95/log-...log=0&data=1-4 https://datazap.me/u/chrisrav95/log-...log=0&data=1-4

I literally had the exact codes just after recently swapping my rod bearings. There often was a cough just before the half power. Same RPMs. The last time I was told there were flames out the exhaust.
First thing I did.was swap the coil from cylinder 6 to 1. And while doing that the plug in cylinder 6 was also changed. Had it been the plug, excellent. Had it been the coil cylinder 1 is much easier to access than cylinder 6. Unfortunately it was neither. I bought the injector from Rock Auto for 92 delivered 2nd day. Resolved the problem. It'll more than likely be the injector, but if you have the time to do it yourself the coil / plug swap is worth a shot. |

Sorry Chris, some brew consumption while watching hockey. As you had changed the coil and plugs it's time to change the injector. In my case it took several months of the same symptoms before the codes appeared.

Unfortunate to hear that, did the codes go away for any point of time? I have already done a bunch of swapping around with the plugs/coils to determine that it is neither of those.

Things seemed to be settled down after I swapped the fuel injector as I was able to give it some gas while doing 80, remained in 6th gear, and did not have a half engine or codes indication. This happened often before the injector swap.
The codes only came back when going WOT in 4th gear on the highway from 3000 rpm up. As I never got them in first - third I have to believe this is load dependant. |
