N55 sound better than N54 unless the N54 is single turbo.

free bump - this is basically the "performance mod" exhaust but from the factory. Its a solid sounding upgrade, i think.

When you took off the axle back was it simply clamped onto the rest of the exhaust at the point before the mufflers? I'm asking because I want to put new tips and am wondering if the shop can just drop the axle back or if they have to cut it to remove it for easier access.

The shop was able to weld the tips on without removing or loosening the exhaust for me. It's better this way so you can verify fitment through the bumper for the tips.
