If CDV= Clutch Delay Valve then yes all BM's for since at least the E46 have them on the manual gerbox.
Its there to stop you dropping the clutch and dumping a load of torque onto the transmission/gearbox. The clutch takes all the punishment with a CDV. Another rumor is that it was first installed to help those regions that are not used to a stick shift system get used to the extra pedal... Regards Anthony |

Don't just get rid, get hold of a modified one and swap it. You can order a stock CDV from your local dealership and modify it yourself - takes about 30 seconds. Costs about £4 and keeps the car looking stock.
I am fitting my modified one this weekend. |

Link for CDV modification: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4589
Link to website giving diagram of CDV and part number (No. 13 - Lock Valve). I bought mine from my local stealer. I paid about £4 - £5 for about 5 valves (I only wanted one, but they sent me a box full). Link here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...08&hg=21&fg=10 Hope this helps. |
