AA tune for 330i

I was wondering if anyone can give an idea of how close the AA tune is to the bpc tune. I had an OE tune in my 06 330i e90 and the dealer did software updates on my car when it was in on recalls so now that its a clean slate so to speak I was thinking of the AA tune. I was going to co with the BPC tune but they no longer offer the tune for the N52. I noticed it was no longer on there website so I called the other day to confirm and yes they said it is no longer offered; bummer! I had read on old post that AA revised there tune. Thanks for any feedback

I mean these differences are so minimal I wouldn't over think it too much. One tune was better in the low end the other was betting in the high end. At the end of the day we're talking the differences of a few HP/TQ at most. I think it was taskmaster who put together the best compilation of dyno pulls of various tunes. I've had the AA tune for over 6 years now and love it. Got it updated when they revised the tune and never looked back. Its a must for the money IMO.

Thanks! It's pretty much what I was thinking. I didn't ask but I wonder why bpc discontinued such a great tune. No N52 love I guess. Thanks Volasko for the input.

Their tuner left and opened his own tuning shop. If you want "BPC" tune, reach out to him https://www.e90post.com/forums/showp...1&postcount=11

I got the AA tune for my 328i because BPC couldn't guarantee that I can pass California smog with their tune. The hesitation when I floor the gas pedal is gone after the tune.

AA tune would do basically nothing on a 330i.

Add like 3 degrees to every timing map. Done.

Are there even many people who are running a tune on their 330i?

I understand the difference is nowhere near adding an intake manifold into a 328i + tune from one of the tuning companies. How much better is the AA / BPC / whatever over stock 330i from experience?

Like Hass said, I would think the change would me minimal at best over stock 330i.

And with what are they charging now a days? I wouldn't think it is very cost effective especially with the Canada tax.

No, I meant the AA tune specifically - not tunes generically for the 330i. Just adding timing to all the ignition maps doesn't actually do much.

You're not going to gain a huge amount of power of course with an all stock motor, but a solid 10-15whp is possible. With headers, MILVs etc you can get a lot more.

I've been running my own tune for the last 5 years, my only real mod is MILVs and I did that basically on a whim, lol. The stock tune felt like BMW was choking it back.

I mean the first performance mod I did for my car was an AA tune and although the difference was subtle, I still felt it was worth my time and money. Call Bimmersport automotive in Mississauga for pricing, I'm not sure what its worth now.

if you really want to feel the difference get supersprint headers and exhaust, Evolve tune, 3.64 diff, ram air, cai, tb and take the weight out as much as possible ... you'd be surprised of the difference

tune by itself is barely noticeable on 330i

i agree! i want a lil more out of my n52 around 2-3k rpm. ive read a bpc tune offers that but im not paying $800 for that. did you ever get a chance to put it on a dynojet?

dump question. My car currently has on OE tune. I have no clue if the tune is any good or not. It was on the car according to previous owners records when I bought it. The dealer was suppose to do software updates when it was in for recalls and never did them. The only reason I asked them to do them was to wipe my ECU back to stock. If I were to get another tune, can the tuner put a new tune over top of the OE tune so to speak or does the dealer have restore it to factory spec first. I have no clue how the tuning thing works.

The OE tune does even less than AA. lol. Look into the OFT tablet...

A good tuner would update the DME before flashing a tune. There's basically zero reason to start with what's on your DME now.
