Loud cooling fan and CEL 29F1 DME Fuel pressure, plausibilty?

10 335i 80k

When I go to start my car the cooling fan decided to run full speed out of nowhere so random. I read up on the CEL and got nothing, the CEL seems to come back all the time, I cleared it and it reappears fan slows down then goes full speed. I drove it and fan speed went to normal. Then next day I drove it again and fan was going full speed.

I was suspecting the waterpump is on it way out, I pressed the start button 2 times for accessories and then held the gas pedal for 12 seconds to test and the waterpump is running like a champ saw strong stream in reservoir, pump kind of made a funny noise like its wearing out but that could be normal. Battery is at 12.3v no warnings no overheating and temp gauges working saw good coolant and oil temps in MHD.
