Am I pushing the limit of my turbos?

Ok here's my current mod setup:

Fbo, including inlet and outlets, running meth and e30/40 with jb4 and MHD BEF.

So my question is, with all this added power am I causing my engine to be less reliable? Yes I understand more power = more stress but by how much?

Start planning and saving for a single turbo kit lol...

Really depends on how you drive. Are you tracking the car or do you do occasional pulls?

If just occasional pulls, not as much stress provides you warm up the oil properly before doing pulls.

LOL, no plan for single turbo kit.....at least at this point.

No tracking of vehicle, just a pleasure vehicle for the most part.

Thanks for your input Kitty

How many miles have you driven the car with those mods? Are you changing the oil more frequently? If you keep up the maintenance and basically DD the car you should be fine for a long time. I'm a weekend road trip/ daily and about to cross 100k miles. No issues yet!

Just recently installed the inlets/outlet. Overall with mods maybe 3000-4000 miles. Car has 94k miles, turbos replaced at 77k miles. Yeah, ive been doing oil changes every 5-6000 miles.

Overall car runs great, was just curious what kind of reliability most people are experiencing with modded engines/turbos.

I don't think you have anything to worry about for a long time based on what you described.

My stock turbos lasted ~40k tuned above 17psi. YMMV

What psi are you at? I was hitting upwards of 21/22 psi when idgaf anymore.

I think with your set up you are pushing those snails to their max, but not to say that they can't handle that kind of power.

You got fresh turbos as well, great supporting mods. Plenty ppl pushing similar power for a long time. Reliability depends on how often you push it.

Enjoy it

They would die with the thing factory stock, may as well enjoy them.

Put some money aside for when they die and drive it.

Im boosting anywhere between 15-18 psi. I know i need to check for boost leaks especially after installing the inlet/oulet pipes.

And also get a tune built for them.

No they dont, you need a custom tune.

I believe Trebila still makes custom back end flashes

The real question here is how much psi and for how many miles can you push a new set of stock turbos for?

With full bolt on and tuned with good maintenance.

Don't overthink it I been tuned since 28k now I'm at 114k and the car still pulls like a freight train. I do occasional pulls but never track. Just do proper warm up and keep up with schedule maintenance and you'll be fine. It also helps to save up for new turbos when the time comes you'll be ready, I'm upgrading next year.

Oh yeah also my car never came with an oil cooler never had issues of overheating. Installing CSF radiator helped a lot.

Wow, that's impressive. I knew the N54 is stout but its good to hear it first hand. Yeah my car has factory oil cooler. Ill definitely be doing oil changes much more frequent. No harm in having clean oil.

Good question. I'm good with only boosting 18 psi max. Id rather be conservative than maxing the stock turbos.
