valve cover leak

Whats up guys! so about a few days ago this my bmw 335i n55 was in park when all of a sudden this white/greyish smoke comes out from the right side of the hood. It smelt really bad as well, I called a local indy shop and they said its most likely an oil leak from the valve cover and wanted to charge me $1300!! which is insane. If I order the parts its only $500 for the whole valve cover kit that includes everything needed from ECS tuning but IM not at all handy or good with cars. Any good Mechanics in the Austin area that's willing to make 1 to 2 hundred extra few bucks or any super easy and explainable DIY's for me to follow? Thanks
