I didnt mean the monocoque. That is of course different for each type of car, otherwise it couln't have different dimensions and a different shape.

Point was it isn't a new car from a technology pov imho. It's a roadster/sportscar made from e39 tech, so a parts bin car. That's what BMW always does with their sportier cars.
Whereas Mercedes, at least with their SLS and AMG GT start off with a more blank sheet of paper.
I'm sure they also recycle some parts but the general layout of these cars are much more different to the rest of the mercedes models than the z8/e39 example.
But BMW doesn't really make cars that are in the same class as an sls or amg gt.
Would be nice if they did though, but I can't see BMW leaving their parts bin way of doing things.
