The ARM 5" stepped looks exactly like the G-Plus IC I got off of ebay. Likely they make them for ARM. I think it's suitable for 90+* Louisiana summer, but if I were to go past stage 1+ i'd probably want a bigger unit...
I'm on stage 2+ with the ARM 5" stepped FMIC. I have yet to see IAT's go over 115. 90% of the time, they are 90 to 110 degrees. I'm sure with their 7" version, you'd almost never see IAT's go over 100 degrees based on my experience with their 5" stepped version.

I don't track the car, and I don't really want to get my Dremmel out and take my front bumper off to ensure the 7" fits.

In Michigan, it only gets hot & humid 3 to 4 months out of the year. The rest of the time, temps range from -25 to 80 degrees. If I lived in a state like AZ or Florida, you bet I'd get a 7". Even if I just DD the car, I'd still get a 7" because I do like to drive in a spirited manner once in a while.

Update....

After much reviewing of BMS, ARM, Wagner, VRSF and a bunch of others. I just ordered the CSF E Chassis N54/55 Intercooler Black from Mike at Extreme.

I really could not find too much out there on this fmic for our N54 platform, but they have a high reputation with the N55 group and throughout the automotive industry. I felt for where I'm at mod wise and where I will realistically go with future mods, this should suit me fine. I also liked the fact that like some other manufactures, they offer a black version. I like being as discreet as I can. At least until they hear the bov, dci or of course the factory sport exhaust...

I will do some stock before and after logs so we can have at least one comparison on our board here. I'm not one for doing write ups, so I'm not making any promises. The faster Mike can get this thing across the country to me, the faster you'll have your results.

In Florida my iat is barley 10 above ambient and that's what matters most. Today it was 98 outside and my iat was 105 with short driving and 110 in traffic. The best intercoolers keep the air closer to ambient, keeps it there longer, with each pull your iat actually drops instead of increases. I've tried many intercooler and vrsf is hands down tone of the best values and very efficient. To each their own, but i wouldn't go with anyone else and I definitly wouldn't buy intercoolers blind based on anyone's review or post. I hope the OP is actually analyzing log files to see real world action.

Buuuuullshiiiiit. Don't buy VRSF propaganda. Do some research off this forum (like s pool street, n54tech or your local forum) for the better brands.

Edit: LOL! You can't even say the name of other forums anymore. E90post is getting more nazi by the second. I'm done giving input here. Will only be bashing from now on.
I'm not sponsored, paid or anything I've always posted to other forums and never had issues. Spool has always has its url changed but that doesnt stop you from linking it. People know what forums links are changed and if you knew anything about websites youd understand why e90 does it. If there forum is filled with outside links that enhances other forums in Google's search results, so the best way to limit that is limit your competition.

Anyways I posted proof of the intercooler working. I havnt seen any logs of anyone else with real world results. I came to help the OP make an informed decision not argue. I dont care about brands, but I will defend vrsf when I know for a fact their intercoolers live up to the claims when I have one and proved it with my logs. This thread. If you have issues with vrsf products dont buy them, I can only review there intercooler and chargepipe since that's all I have of theres.
