Nest in engine bay - Audi

So I found this pic on FB from a guy who just came back from a 3 week vacation to find this strange little nest in his engine bay. Was too good not to share.

His explanation:
Quote:
Mice, I think. Vast amount of leaves, brush and mulch filling all the spaces around the engine, with the ‘nest’ made of fiber and foam on the top. No inhabitants. Also no start as they’ve chewed through the injector loom.

Maybe it was trying to clean up the carbon buildup.

A friend discovered a marmot had hid in her bumper a few days ago at a trailhead, came out at her house, but went right back into the engine bay, behind the engine.

Maybe the animal thought that the car no longer works.

To be fair, as a front-engined audi, now he's going to have to take off the bumper and everything forward of the engine to remove the nest.

And let’s hope is not a rodent. My friend had an Audi 90; rodents made a nest in the vents. One of them died inside and was not pleasant. We cursed at very rodent on earth.
