I sure hope Ford fixed the transmission...my son's 2015 Focus was terrible...in the shop so many times I lost count.

Not quite. Ford is no longer building and selling passenger cars in the US except for the Mustang (well, the Fusion is still around for another year too). They will continue to build and sell millions of cars per year elsewhere in the world.
