Hi all, just a quick post to see if any of you might beable to help with an issue i have with my car.

My car is a pre-lci e90 330d and has just had a 6hp28 gearbox swap from a 6hp26. Upon fitting it worked fine apart from needing adaptations resetting and xhp stage 3 put on. i contacted xhp and found a hw# version that was compatible with my existing box / hw# version and duly uploaded the software. This is where the issues began. After upload only R and 3rd gear would engage on auto box.
When trying to communicate with tcm it wouldnt and hasnt since. We tried a cas module out of a pre lci 335d to see if it would communicate but still no joy. The garage has factory reset both dme / dde and cas to rectify any existing errors and although the car starts (has always started) and communicates with other modules, it no longer does between engine and box. We thought it might be a corrupt mechatronic tcu so we switched that out but still no communication is happening. Done a battery disconnect also. Xhp have requested doing a software update to engine ecu but still this hasnt cured the issues so now starting to think is it a data cable short or a more in depth line of software edit that xhp has created. It also seems to think its 2010 rather than 2005 which is weird and wonder if xhp has tried to code via d can rather than k line. The only other information i have is that stage 3 xhp was on previous box, it has upgraded lci frm & cic modules fitted but this shouldnt be of issue imo. Finally, my ibs sensor is unplugged (faulty) and although it was hooked up to constant monitored charge wonder if there may have been a voltage drop/spike that may has caused gremlins. I dont think that is the case but worth giving as full a picture as possible.

I know there are so very knowledgable people on here, so any experience or help you can offer would be appreciated as although i am sure the garage will figure it out, they have not encountered this issue before so there is some head scratching going....

Did you swap your old mechatronics? Was the EWS in transmission matched to CAS and DME?

Thanks for reply. We managed to recover bricked mechatronic via winkfp expert mode. A cas module was used from a pre lci 335d and matched to dme/ ews and success it all worked fine again. We tried once again to load xhp but again, same issues. In touch with xhp to work out where the issues are and whether it is within the software and compatibility....
I will post up once i have a final answer, either with xhp or without...
