If you only had the alignment checked (adjusted?) 3800 miles ago I would be asking why the camber is so far out on one side to kill the tyres unless you remember sliding sideways into something of course!

I would also question the need for penetrating oil after such a short timeframe from the last tweak.

If it were me I'd be tempted to ask for some guarantee that the wheel alignment is not going to scrub another £400 worth of tyres.

It will not be the first time I have heard of some super alignment machine to be giving faulty readings and the mechanic adjusting wheel alignment away from where it should be!

Exactly. I'd trust my piece of string, tape measure and spirit level over most tyre shops, and that's not very accurate at all! Got to have someone good to run the machine too...

It was more convenient for me to drop the car off before they closed, leaving the car with them over night anyways, so it made sense in my mind to ask them to give the adjustable components a dose of penetrating fluid.
Whether or not it did, everything's now adjusted up nicely & the P4S's look very nice.

As for the rear being so far out I know that I haven't slid the wheel into anything, as for the Mrs Chappers...who knows & I've learnt that ignorance is bliss when it comes to how she drives the 35i
It is possible that it wasn't set up that well on the last alignment as I can't find the receipt with the geo results & she picked the car up, the receipt could be anywhere

Anyways I wasn't charged for the geo because it had done so few miles since the last one.

Fortunately I don't have that problem. My better half considers a 335i far too complicated and cannot even start it!

Used Hankook Ventus S1 Evo2 for ages, then got a good deal on some Goodyear Eagles, but they're just too noisy on the motorways so gone back to the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo2. The Hankook are a slightly wider tyre compared to the Goodyears as well.

Thats interesting regarding the noise with the Goodyears. I was of the opinion they were some of the quietest...at least that's what the tyre labels seem to suggest on comparison websites

69dB on the eagle f1 3's vs say 71, 72dB for Michelin and Continental respectively.

Bridgestone potenza s001's recently fitted on all 4 corners. I had them on my golf R and they were awesome and lasted over 25k miles with the car being driven 'hard'.

I think they are a good all round Tyre.

Yeah, my Hankooks are rated 71dB as well, but the Goodyears were just too noisy on the motorway.

Assuming you are talking about 255/35/19 rather than 255/30/19 this would be equivalent to a 4% increase in distance travelled per revolution of the wheel.

Not only would your speedo then under-read but features like stability control might throw a wobbly too.

Why would you want to change anyway?

Providing you do not use RFT's 30 profile is fine.
