4420 is 442 ohms. What will be the good value without killing the LED? 3/4 of it? like 300 ohms?

Looks like they are in parallel so it would be 442 divided by 2. But we would have the check the voltage coming in on those two wires. Worst case change the led to one with known specifications and change the resistors appropriately.

This is an interesting read, I've noticed over the years the ambient lighting on the front doors seem to be dimmed over the years of constant use. Replacing those resistors and SMD would probably work but you would need to find out what would work without melting the housings.
