New guy intro and headlight questions
I just bought an 06 325i to replace a 1990 Integra. I have a 17 month old grand daughter that deserves to ride around in a nicer car w AC here in Southern Az. I bought it from an older guy who I learned grew up w my older brother. He had years of service records, carfax, it looked really nice and he gave me a pretty good deal after he learned who I was.
I literally know nothing about these cars. Other than the Integra I drive an 87 Blazer, a pure, simple and necessary rig..... My question is about the headlights. The driver side and passengers side are not aligned. I found there is a clip on the pass. side that had come undone, I reattached it, aligned and matched the beams. The driver side is bright and is a sharp pattern, the pass side is bright but has a definite halo in the middle, not nearly as focused. Kind of a vague pattern. (The brights are laser sharp) They are the same bulb on each side. Are they supposed to be like that? I'm thinking maybe the reflector in the housing is dirty? Maybe they're just cheap basic bulbs, I dunno..... Thanks in advance and I look forward to adventures in this sweet little car! |

So I got brave and dug around a little.... Turns out the bulb wasn't seated correctly and the spring/keeper has been stretched a few times by a mechanic with a pipe wrench. I'm tweaking it back into shape little by little to make it better.
