COMBOX retrofit swap from donor car
Hello everyone,
My good friend recently got into an accident that totaled his 2012 335xi E92. This vehicle was fully loaded with Harmon kardon and CIC nav with full Bluetooth capability. He is allowing me to put whatever I need from this into my 2010 335i also with CIC nav but I have logic 7. What is the easiest way to swap this over so I can have the full Bluetooth capabilities? I believe it will be easier since I have every part in the system available but I could be wrong. If the case is that I can swap it over, what will I need to swap? Thank you in advance Edit: I believe it is worth noting my phone connects to my car already for phone use only. I would like Bluetooth music and album artwork through usb Last edited by Paliator; 08-04-2019 at 11:34 PM.. |

Your CIC has your vin programmed into it. Swapping CIC is not as easy as it sounds. There are ways to virginize so do some research.
You may not even need his CIC. Unless yours is on really old firmware you probably can just do a combox retrofit. |

If you already have cic, a combox and bluetooth to phone, you should only have to do coding to add EBT (enhanced bluetooth). I believe you also have to change the build date to 03/11. I did it in my 2011, but it has been awhile, so I don't recall what all I had to code. I didn't have bluetooth at all, but after coding and adding a second mic, all was good including album art.
