E46 Coupes

I have been wondering how Oz E90/E92 owners who upgraded from E46 feel about the step up and if they are happy or miss the E46. I guess I am tossing up on maybe picking up a 2nd hand 325ci or 330ci rather than waiting until next year for good E90/E92 to come on the market. Also wondering if the E90 experience is worth forking out the extra over a good E46 sports coupe which would be heaps cheaper.

There has been discussion on this on the US forums but its different in OZ given our unique situation - ie. the prices we pay!!

Mate i don't know what price range your after but ill tell you that waiting a year is a better option in my honest opinion. I mean the e46's are decent vehicles but waiting a year for a new 3er isn't that bad. I waited a good year just for the M-Sports kit and ill tell you it was well worth it.

Alto are wholesaling there cars so maybe you might be able to get a decent 325 for a great price. When i had a chat with one of the sales reps he said they were willing to make a loss on some of the cars just to get some money in.(two days ago) PM me if you need salesmens details.

I would have thought $40k now for a mint 325ci versus $60 to $70 in an years time for a E90 (sedan)

first of all a coupe and sedan suit different lifestyles and purposes so you have to decide what's good for you. Secondly, if you talking about a used E90 325 well they can be had for the 60 - 70K now but they will be 2005 or early 2006 with varying K's. Nothing wrong with a mint E46 coupe IMO. They represent good value for money when compared to the E92 coupe. Put it this way ... 40 - 45K don't buy you a lot in new car terms these days and a well maintained E46 couple will still give you a lot of pleasure in driving.

That is how I saw it (but up that price by 50% lol) when I was buying my car... I had driven the e90 and seen pictures of the e93, and upon this I decided on the e46, just feels like a solid, and quality unit

For me, if i was waiting a year, it would be a no brainer, cos if I am buying a new car, I want it then and there lol
