Anyone disassembled alcantara E brake handle?

I want to wrap the silver part and it would be much easier and better if I could pry it off.

There seems to be 2 large tabs in the inside as in the picture but I am not sure and don't want to break it. If anyone has already removed the piece any advice or how did you do it?

Yes, it comes off easily with a small jewelers screwdriver...just take your time and don't break the tabs. Work from the rear forward.
