Put brand new oil BACK in engine

Hello, I was just changing the oil on my 335i n54 and while buttoning everything back up I found out that my torque wrench is broken and snapped the oil drain bolt. I was able to get the bolt out and, of course, the brand new oil drained into my pan. The pan has only been used once to drain the oil from the change with the old oil. I had already dumped the old oil at the auto parts store.

My question is, once i get my new drain plug, can I put that oil back in the car? Car wasn't even started before i had to drain the new oil out. The reason I ask is it is going to take days to get 7 litres of Liquid Moly here since nobody has it around me.

Hey, I'd do it - what's the worst that could happen? You say there was nothing in the drain pan that didn't come out of your sump in the first place, so what's to worry about?. Even if there is some minor contamination like dust in the air, there's a reason you have a filter, and that stuff is going to get in there anyway. Besides, Liquimoly is expensive!

Why not fit a magnetic sump plug next time?

I wouldn't. I'd go and buy some cheaper oil locally and run it until the LM came in.

If the drain pan was clean and you stored the new oil in a clean container, then go ahead and reuse it.

And stop using a stupid torque wrench on the drain bolt. It just needs to seat. Then give it another 1/8 turn. I just bump the end of the ratchet with my fist.
