2007 E92 front struts too tall?

I replaced my front struts when I first got the car and put on 1 inch lowering perches. Shortly after that a noise developed on the front end so over the last few years I've replaced all control arms and steering arms and finally replaced my semi-new struts and that was the noise. Sounds great now and rides like a dream but it sits about an inch taller than it did before I replaced the struts. How? The springs are the device that hold ride height, so it shouldn't have changed anything. It's been a couple months and it hasn't settled at all. I used the lowering perches. I compressed the suspension when tightening control arms. I went back and double checked part numbers and they're the right Bilstein struts from ecs... what could I have possibly done?

Which brand perches did you use? One inch drop is quite a bit on a perch.

I don't remember and they're not branded but I didn't know they existed before hearing about them from someone here. I probably ordered them through here - this forum is where I get most of my good ideas. They're the biggest pain in the whole process because they make the spring compressor fit oddly and slow down the whole project. If if weren't for them, I'd be able to swap these struts in 15 minutes.
BUT, I took them and my springs off one set of struts and put them right back on another set of struts and the whole car sits a noticeable amount higher. Ironically about an inch? I replaced my strut mounts as well, maybe they're taller? I'm pretty sure I'm going to take everything back out and measure it up - I still have the parts I pulled. I just wanted to have some idea of what I'm looking for when I do. Like maybe someone else had done this and could suggest common mistakes. Wouldn't be so bad if it would quit being over 105 out every day, even with evap in the garage it's miserable.
