So what good is 1sec quicker in few hot laps to me when I can't do, let's say hypothetically, 10 events with 6X20min sessions each? I ran RS3 last year. I was slower than guys in RE11, RE71 and Direzza. Did few events this year already on the RSRR and now I'm faster because the tire is cheaper and tougher so I'm comfortable pushing them little further. So unless you are professional where seconds matter and have tire sponsor the RSRR are better choice. Why spend $1000 on tires and do 7 events when you can spend $500 on tires and do 10 events.
Very true. For $/performance the RSRR sounds outstanding.

Seems might have a leaking injector as well. Number 2 that also missfires. Put new coils and nothing changed. on map 1 no problems but on map 2 this happens

Hey guys, I just had my first "new" injector fail (will check what index) after about 30k miles or so. Does anyone know if new injectors have any type of warranty at all?

You could either spend £100+ on tools or

Use this free method to get the injectors out

And this free method to put the O-rings back on the new injectors

Thank me later

Although, I appreciate the ingenuity that seal is not compressed enough and to me is both, waste of time and electrical tape. I use small OD hose sliced along the length with small clamp. Fast and reusable.

Awesome +1 to this method. Will be trying the next time an injector bites the dust

However, in my experience the injector just pulled out by hand and basic tools were all that was needed.

Injector replacement takes all of 15 minutes to change all 6. However they need to be coded in the computer afterwards.

People replace with the latest revision from BMW known as Index 12. They can be sourced other places though under the name OE manufacturers.
Thanks for the info, whats the repercussions of daily driving with a leaky injector? Bad idea?
I drove mine with a couple of leaky injectors for over 12 months.

I know everyone will list the bad points and I was aware, money just wasn't available.

Really bad miss firing from start, once warm it was ok though.

I had this issue. All I did was attach a large set of locking pliers to the threads of the old injector. I then rocked the injector back & forth by grabbing the pliers. Bingo they came out.

Use physics to your advantage.

Very valuable info guys I’m glad that surfaced. Even though you guys know that you have to be careful I’m sure some of us(Me) don’t.

For me, it was like do I spend $50, 60, 70.00 on a tool I might use twice, when I have other options?

I just clamped down on the threads of the old injector with some heavy duty vice grips that are about 6-8" long. This gave me the extra leverage I needed to pop the injector out. It was literally like 2-4 to Pushes back & forth. I didn't even need to push on it that hard because I had the extra leverage.

I also was able to lift two of the injectors out with a heavy duty pick. This gave me a gauge as to how much force you might need to pop out a "stubborn" injector, that's been there from the factory since day one. 😉

Guys, if anyone needs an injector puller, shoot me a PM. I will let you borrow mine for the low cost of retuning it to me ( I wouldn’t turn down the shipping reimbursement I spend on getting it to you either). It could save you the cost of replacing your n54 head. I have the injector seal replacement dies as well.

US postal small flat rate box to you, US Postal small flat rate box back to me.

This is a great deal for anyone looking to do this job. Personally I bought the tool and didn't need it. So I returned it for the cost of return shipping.

There’s a 2+ page thread on here somewhere from a guy who needed to use crush washers and Teflon tape to seat his injectors after screwing up the holes...
