How hard to swap n54 into n55 car?
I may be able to buy a 2011 335i with a blown engine. I already have a spare and 54 engine complete with DME and anything else I might need out of a wrecked car can I swap the n54 into the 2011 335i? If so will it bolt to the transmission that's there? If not I do have another transmission for the N54 but not sure if they changed the driveshaft at all. basically I'm wanting to know if anybody has done this how easy or hard would it be?

I would think the only big hurdle would be the harness connecting the DME to the rest of the car. The DMEs are in different locations and I'm sure the connections are different as well. Lots of guys online can do bench flashing and cloning of DMEs so I'd imagine you could have a guy like that do an EWS delete or match the n54 DME to the car and you'd have a working vehicle if you can find the harness needed or reroute the existing one to the right spot if it fits. They made the same car with both engines in 2010 depending on the month so it's certainly doable.
